How to Protect Your Money In Less Than Five Minutes

I receive calls every week from across Manitoba from people of every age who have lost money to investment fraud. Some have lost as little as $250 and some as much as $600,000. Regardless of the amount, the bottom line is that once you hand your money over to a fraudster, it is very unlikely you will ever get it back.

During my time as an investigator, I have heard too many stories and have seen too many families lose their life savings to investment fraud.

I don’t want this to happen to you.

Because I don’t want you to be the next victim, I am going to share some very powerful information gathered by investigators with the Manitoba Financial Services Agency (MFSA). Information you can use to make sure you don’t lose your hard-earned money.

I want to ask you to spend less than five minutes listening to six audio clips my investigations team recorded of actual conversations we had with a real fraudster. You can hear first-hand the tactics they use to steal your money.

Listen carefully to what they say:

Time to Call Out Fraud

What did you think?

Did you – Catch some of the red flags of fraud such as:

  • Promises of doubling your money, guarantee returns or bonus payouts
  • Acting like they are your friend
  • Offering to make the investment decision ‘together’
  • Feeling the intense pressure that they apply
  • Telling you they don’t need to be registered, when in fact they do!

Can you – Agree to take the following action to protect yourself and our Manitoban community:

  • Share this information far and wide with family and friends to protect them from being victimized – too many people think it will never happen to them, but its just not true.
  • Call 1-855-FRAUD – MB to report any fraud incidents
  • Check to see if the person that you are dealing with is registered to do business in Manitoba at aretheyregistered.ca

Working together to Call Out Fraud, we can lift the veil of secrecy that often surrounds this type of crime, and help protect you, your loved ones and other Manitobans from becoming victims of investment fraud.
